What is a digital wallet?
A digital wallet is a secure app on your phone that stores your debit or credit card information and lets you pay at contactless terminals without needing your physical card. Instead of swiping or inserting your card, you simply hold your phone near the payment reader and authenticate with your fingerprint, face or passcode.
Why use a digital wallet?
Digital Wallet is faster than swiping a card and more secure than carrying one. Your actual card number is never shared with the merchant, so even if a retailer experiences a breach, your information stays protected.
Apple Pay.
Apple Pay® lets you make purchases at participating merchants using your iPhone® Touch ID™ or Face ID.
How to pay in stores:
- Look for the contactless payment symbol at checkout and hold your phone near the reader.
- Authenticate with Touch ID, Face ID or your passcode.
- Hold your phone near the reader until it vibrates or beeps, confirming your payment was accepted.
Google Pay.
Google Pay™ lets you pay in stores or in apps with a tap. Google Pay does not store your physical card number, it assigns a unique virtual account number to keep your information secure.
How to pay in stores:
- Look for the contactless payment symbol or the Google Pay symbol at checkout.
- Wake and unlock your phone, you do not need to open the Google Pay app.
- Hold the back of your phone near the payment reader until a confirmation appears on your screen.
Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay™ lets you use your eligible Samsung device to make purchases wherever you can swipe or tap your card. Your card number is never stored by merchants.
How to pay in stores:
- Look for the contactless payment symbol or the Samsung Pay symbol at checkout.
- Swipe up on your screen and authenticate with your fingerprint.
- Hold your device near the terminal until it vibrates or beeps.
