Everything you need to know about Zelle® for small business.
What is Zelle®?
Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way for small businesses to send, receive and request money typically within minutes with customers and eligible vendors they trust. If your customers use Zelle® within their financial institution’s banking app, they can send payments directly to your business account using just your email address or U.S. mobile number.
How do I use Zelle® with my small business account?
Log in to the FireFirstCU App or Online Banking, navigate to Move Money and select Zelle®. Accept the Terms and Conditions, enter your email address or U.S. mobile number and select your deposit account. After entering your one-time verification code, you are ready to send and receive. To receive payments, share your enrolled contact information with customers. To send money, select a recipient, enter the amount and hit Send. To request payment, select Request and enter the recipient’s contact information.
How do I know if my business account is eligible for Zelle®?
Log in to the FireFirstCU App, select Move Money and then Zelle®. If the enrollment option is available, your account is eligible. If you have questions, call us at 800.231.1626.
Are there any fees to use Zelle® with a business account?
Firefighters First Credit Union does not charge a fee to use Zelle® with a small business account. Your mobile carrier’s messaging and data rates may apply.
Can I cancel or reverse a Zelle® payment?
You can only cancel a payment if the recipient has not yet enrolled with Zelle®. If the recipient is already enrolled, the payment goes directly to their account and cannot be canceled. This is why it is important to always verify the recipient’s email address or mobile number before sending. If you sent money to the wrong person, call us immediately at 800.231.1626.
Can my customers enrolled only in the standalone Zelle® app pay me?
No. Small business accounts can only receive payments from customers who use Zelle® through their bank or credit union’s app. If a customer is only enrolled in the standalone Zelle® app, they will not be able to send you payment and you should arrange an alternative payment method.
Is Zelle® available for international payments?
No. Both the sender and recipient must have bank or credit union accounts based in the U.S.
Does Firefighters First or Zelle® offer purchase protection for small business payments?
No. Neither Firefighters First Credit Union nor Zelle® offers a purchase protection program for payments made with Zelle®. Only send money to and accept payments from people and businesses you know and trust.
I have multiple businesses with different tax IDs. Can I use Zelle® for each?
Our Business Banking Team can help you set up Zelle® in a way that fits your needs. Contact us at 800.231.1626 to speak with a team member.
