What is a digital wallet?

A digital wallet is a secure app on your phone that stores your debit and credit card information and lets you pay at any contactless terminal without needing your physical card. Instead of swiping or inserting your card, you simply hold your phone near the payment reader and authenticate with your fingerprint, face or passcode.

Apple Pay®

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the + icon to add a card.
  3. Select Debit or Credit Card and follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. If your Firefighters First card is already on file with Apple, select it and enter the security code from the back of your card to confirm. Otherwise, use your camera to scan your card or enter the details manually.
  5. Follow any additional verification steps to complete setup.

Once your card is added, hold your iPhone near any contactless payment reader to pay. Authenticate with Touch ID, Face ID, or your passcode.

Google Pay™

  1. Open the Google Wallet app on your Android device. If you do not have it installed, download it from Google Play.
  2. At the bottom, tap Add to Wallet.
  3. Tap Payment card, then tap New credit or debit card.
  4. Use your camera to scan your Firefighters First card, or tap Enter details manually.
  5. Tap Save and continue, then read and accept the Issuer Terms.
  6. If prompted, complete a verification step to confirm your card. You may receive a one-time code by text, email, or through the FFCU app.

Once your card is added, wake and unlock your phone and hold the back of your device near any contactless payment reader to pay. You do not need to open the Google Wallet app.

Samsung Pay™

  1. Open the Samsung Pay app on your eligible Samsung device.
  2. Tap Add and select Credit/Debit card.
  3. Use your device camera to scan your Firefighters First card, or enter the details manually.
  4. Review and accept the terms.
  5. Secure your account with your fingerprint and set a backup PIN.

Once your card is added, swipe up from the bottom of your screen, authenticate with your fingerprint, and hold your device near the terminal to pay.
