Every savings option we offer. Find the right fit for you.
The right savings account depends on how soon you need the money, how much you want to earn and what you are working toward. Every savings product at Firefighters First is built for the Fire Family with no unnecessary fees and competitive rates. Here is a guide to every option we offer so you can find the right fit for where you are right now.
Every member starts here. Your $5 opens the door.

Make the holidays feel easy for once.
Set aside a little each month and your full balance transfers automatically on November 15. No minimum balance, no partial withdrawals and renews automatically each year.

What is the difference between a Regular Savings Account and a Money Market Account?
Both are variable-rate accounts with full access to your funds at any time. The key differences are the minimum balance and the dividend rate. A Regular Savings Account requires just $5 and earns a standard dividend rate. A Money Market Account requires a $2,500 minimum balance but earns higher tiered dividends that increase automatically as your balance grows. If your balance consistently stays above $2,500 and you want it earning more, a Money Market Account is the stronger choice.
What is the difference between a Money Market Account and a Share Certificate?
A Money Market Account has no fixed term. Your funds stay accessible at any time and the rate is variable. A Share Certificate locks your funds for a defined term at a fixed rate, typically earning more than a Money Market Account in exchange for that commitment. If you know you will not need the funds for 6 months or more and want a guaranteed return, a Share Certificate is likely the better fit.
Can I Have More Than One Savings Account?
Yes. Many members hold multiple accounts at the same time for different purposes. For example, a Regular Savings Account for everyday access, a Money Market Account for an emergency fund and a Share Certificate for longer-term savings can all coexist under a single membership.
Can I set up automatic transfers into my savings accounts?
Yes. Automatic transfers from your Firefighters First checking account or payroll deductions can be set up for Regular Savings, Money Market and Holiday Helper accounts. Setting up automatic contributions is one of the most effective ways to build savings consistently over time.
Are my deposits federally insured?
Yes. All deposits at Firefighters First Credit Union are federally insured by the NCUA up to $250,000 per depositor.
* Certain restrictions, limitations, and exclusions apply. See terms and conditions for details.
All Firefighters First Credit Union deposit accounts except for share certificates have a variable rate. All rates subject to change. Fees may reduce earnings. A $2,500 minimum balance is required to open and maintain a Money Market Account. Share Certificate minimum opening deposit is $1,000. Federally insured by NCUA up to $250,000.
