The Foundation Mission: Built Around Fire Family Realities
The Fire Family Foundation exists because of those realities, supporting fire families through relationship workshops, community programs, and financial assistance during times of hardship.
Supporting the Heroes Behind the Heroes
Every fire family faces different challenges throughout the course of a career. Some need support during a crisis. Others seek connection, wellness resources, educational opportunities, or community. The Foundation’s mission is to provide meaningful support through each stage of that journey.

A Mission Focused on Both Crisis Support and Long-Term Resilience
The Fire Family Foundation recognizes that firefighters do not serve alone. Spouses, partners, children and loved ones often carry the emotional weight of fire service life alongside the firefighters they support every day. Our mission includes them all, strengthening the entire network of people standing behind the fire service community.
Crisis Support
The Fire Family Foundation provides financial assistance and relief support for firefighters and families experiencing hardship connected to injuries, medical emergencies, line-of-duty deaths, natural disasters, and other difficult circumstances. During times of crisis, the Foundation provides stability, compassionate care, and practical support when families need it most.
Long-Term Resilience
The Foundation supports long-term resilience through the Fire Family Strong Resilience & Wellness Conference, Peer Mentor Support for Spouses/Partners, and educational opportunities across the Fire Family community.
Programs Designed for Fire Families
Programs include Virtual Support Sessions, Premarital Support for Fire Couples, Fireside Chats, Couples Retreats, the Fire Family Strong Resilience & Wellness Conference, and educational opportunities, all designed around the unique challenges firefighters and families face throughout every stage of fire service life.
Creating Programs Designed Specifically for Fire Families
The Fire Family Foundation believes support programs should reflect the realities and culture of fire service life rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.
