Protect your computer.

  • Current browser software
  • Firewall software to prevent unauthorized access to your computer
  • Anti-keylogging software to detect and encrypt keystrokes against hidden malware
  • Operating system and software updates installed promptly when released

  • Avoid personal information such as birthdays, names, or phone numbers

  • Avoid posting photos that reveal your home address or specific location

Watch for online fraud.

Phishing and Spoofing
Phishing emails and spoofed websites are designed to look like Firefighters First and trick you into entering your account credentials or personal information. Red flags include requests for your Social Security number, PIN, or account number via email; urgent warnings that your account will be closed; messages about required security updates; and offers that seem too good to be true. Malware
Malware includes viruses, spyware, and trojans designed to steal personal information or damage your device. To reduce your risk, never download files or attachments unless you are certain of the source, never click on ads requesting financial information, and keep your security software current.

Vishing
Vishing uses spoofed caller ID or automated voicemail recordings to impersonate Firefighters First and request account information. If you receive a suspicious call or message claiming to be from us, do not provide any information. Contact us directly to verify.
